Kat Lynch is an Associate Principal in our Boston office. She’s been at ZoomRx for over three years and has worked in pharma market intelligence for over 20. Kat’s deep understanding of market dynamics and team-based approach to developing creative solutions to complex business problems have made her a huge part of our team and its success.

What’s your role at ZoomRx?

I’m an Associate Principal with our business analysis team. That means my time is pretty evenly split between providing strategic oversight for our current client engagements, engaging prospective clients on opportunities for new partnerships, and–as part of our group’s senior leadership team–building and evolving our internal team.

How do you think ZoomRx is different from other companies doing similar work?

ZoomRx combines a comprehensive set of capabilities with a real depth of partnership. The fact that we bring both of these to our engagements is pretty rare. Having our own research platform and panel of HCPs allows us to keep things in-house and apply more agile, creative solutions toward solving our clients’ problems. When you add the team’s collective experience and a mindset that favors tailoring research to specific objectives, the results are particularly compelling.

Internally, ZoomRx has created a highly team-based environment. A sense of shared responsibility and willingness to consider ideas from all angles are inherent in all our work. I enjoy working with the ZoomRxers who thrive in this environment, as they are all people who are highly skilled but don’t take themselves too seriously.

Experimentation is one of our key values. How do you see this being put into practice?

Our teams operate with an expectation that the way we are doing things now is never the best way. This drives a continuous process of iteration and improvement that has been really key to our growth. This mindset of constant experimentation provides an opportunity for individuals at all levels to make a major impact.

You’ve been at ZoomRx for over three years, what are some of your favorite memories?

We have a tight-knit team, but are geographically distributed. While it’s great seeing my Boston colleagues daily and for our (nearly) weekly happy hours, some of my favorite ZoomRx memories are our company gatherings. Whether the boat tour (party) around Boston harbor to celebrate our 100th employee or the annual (and highly competitive) yankee-swap, it’s always great when we combine offices and celebrate the work we do together.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Aside from wrangling my middle-school-age son, I’m an avid gardener--currently with an emphasis in bringing in native plants and making my backyard into a habitat for regional critters of all kinds. Car culture also has a big place in my interests - my husband and I have recently started collecting Malaise-era cars, and along with our friends, we’re big fans of F1.
